# Early Withdrawal

Early withdrawal allows users to withdraw their locked $VNO in the Fountain before the maturity ends at a cost. This also benefits long term $VNO lockers as a portion of the penalty paid will be shared among the other fountain lockers.

Here is a list of penalty % corresponding to different Fountain :

| Locking Period | Veno Fountain Penalty |
| -------------- | --------------------- |
| 3 months       | 60%                   |
| 12 months      | 70%                   |
| 48 months      | 80%                   |
| 96 months      | 90%                   |

Note that **50%** of the penalty will go to the remaining Fountain depositors, and the other half goes to the Veno treasury. The amount going to the remaining Fountain depositors is determined by their multiplier - the higher the multiplier, the higher the share to the user.
